Well I rose to the challenge and picked 24 exotica tunes which while not necessarily the best are representative of the style of music called 'exotica'. Its a pretty good sampling of old and new classics and quirky examples all sonically enhanced for your listening pleasure.
There's some more laid back and evocative tunes like Lyman's Yellow Bird and the Surfmen's Fire Goddess.
There's more traditional exotica like Martin Denny's version of Quiet Village as no collection would be complete without Denny or that tune, there's possibly my favourite Baxter tune Voodoo Dreams one of the best and most exotic tunes ever, modern groups like the excellent Martini Kings and Waitiki and even the weirdest exotica tune ever Magne's Bahia where it sounds like every bird call he could find was included even a duck quacker.
So here then is my modest effort. Hopefully you'll find something interesting here.

Glad you took up that challenge. I was working for the last 2 weeks on putting together my own picks for Exotica and Space Age Pop. While I've only a novice I tried to do my homework and lot of listening.
Here's my 2 80 minute "cd's"

Ps sent you an invite to my private blog so you can get those 2 discs (and any other genres you have interest in). Sent it to xtabay4@gmail.com. Least I could do to repay you for all the great albums I found here.
Thanks Freewave your lists are really impressive you must have put a lot of work into them.
We seem to agree in a number of areas even picking the same tracks on occasion.
Thanks for the invite can see myself exploring fully.
Yeah I'm a list lover and My Box Set Project has allowed me to focus my efforts and really learn more about and become immersed in a variety of great genres. Exotica and Space Age Pop being no exception :)
Glad you'll be visiting the blog. Lotta great music there and most by people who have quite bit of knowledge on their perspective genres and scenes.
Another awesome comp, Xtabay!
This goes into heavy rotation for Summer!
Cheers!
Hi Xtabay
Thanks for fulfilling my request! Listening right now and loving every second! Much appreciated. :-)
kind regards

Awesome Mix, Xtabay!
I sometimes find myself "frozen" when it comes to picking something to listen to. I actually had most of these tracks already, but I have an unhealthy with collecting music much more than taking the time to actually listen to it all.
Thanks for taking the time to put together a great mix for Mai Tais on the Verandah!
Scott
great compilation!!!
Thanks for putting it together
